2. Scope
These terms of service apply to all services offered by Privacy Share:
- Secure Notes (encrypted one-time messages)
- Secure Links (password-protected, expiring redirects)
- EXIF Cleaner (removal of metadata from images)
- WebP Converter (image format conversion)
3. Free use
All Privacy Share services are free to use and require no registration. There is no entitlement to permanent availability or the continuation of specific features. We reserve the right to modify, restrict, or discontinue any service at any time without prior notice.
4. Description of services
Privacy Share offers the following services:
Secure Notes
Messages are encrypted with AES-256-CBC and permanently deleted after being read once. Unread notes are automatically removed after 30 days. There is no entitlement to the recovery of deleted messages.
Secure Links
Links can be configured with password protection, expiration dates, and click limits. Once the configured conditions are met, the link is automatically deactivated. There is no entitlement to the permanent availability of a created link.
EXIF Cleaner
Images are processed entirely locally in your browser. Metadata (EXIF, IPTC, XMP) is removed without any upload to our servers. We assume no liability for data loss or incomplete cleaning.
WebP Converter
Conversion to WebP format is performed entirely locally in your browser. No images are uploaded. We assume no liability for quality loss or faulty conversions.
5. User obligations
Users agree to use the services only for lawful purposes. The following is expressly prohibited:
- Distribution of illegal, threatening, harassing, or defamatory content
- Distribution of malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Attempts to overload the infrastructure or disrupt operations (DoS attacks, scraping, automated mass access)
- Misuse of the service to evade law enforcement or to conceal illegal activities
- Systematic extraction or copying of content without express permission
6. Disclaimer
Privacy Share is provided without any express or implied warranty. We assume no liability for the availability, accuracy, or completeness of the services. We are not liable for the loss of or unauthorized access to data shared through our services. Use is at your own risk. This limitation of liability does not apply to damages caused by intent or gross negligence, or to claims arising from injury to life, body, or health.
7. Privacy
The processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect only technically necessary data and do not use tracking or third-party services. For more information, please refer to /legal/privacy.php.
8. Blocking and deletion
We reserve the right to restrict or block access to our services without prior notice if there is a reasonable suspicion of misuse. IP addresses may be temporarily or permanently blocked in case of violations of these terms or rate limit exceedances. Content that violates these terms may be removed without prior notice.
9. Changes to terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms of service at any time. The current version is always available on this page. By continuing to use the services after a change, you agree to the updated terms.
10. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These terms of service are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. If any provision is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect. The place of jurisdiction is Stuttgart, where legally permissible.
