Frequently Asked Questions

About the GDPR website check.

Is this a legal GDPR audit?

No. It is an automated technical first assessment of common privacy basics. It does not replace a legal review or a full data protection audit.

Do you store the URLs I check?

No. We fetch the page once to analyze it and never store or log the URL. Only an anonymous counter of total checks is kept.

Why is Google Fonts flagged?

Loading fonts from Google's servers transmits your visitors' IP addresses to Google. A German court (LG München I) ruled this can violate the GDPR. Self-hosting the fonts avoids it.

Can I check any website?

Any public website reachable over http/https. Private, internal or password-protected pages cannot be checked.

A check shows "could not check" — why?

Some sites block automated requests or render their content via JavaScript. In those cases the affected checks are marked as inconclusive rather than guessed.
